The apple trees have arrived!
It is essential that new trees pass Sam's rigorous inspection. This includes claw sharpening on the box, trying to eat one of them and he likes to incubate them as below.
For some reason I chose only idyllic looking eating apples, no ugly but delicious cooking apples or inedible but intoxicating cider apples. Hopefully i'll find some space in the garden for a couple of cooking apples a bit later. Below is what i'm looking forward to in a year or two.
Pomme de neige (Snow Apple)
Crofton (A childhood favorite of mine)
Summer Strawberry (chosen solely on appearances!)
The apples came from Woodbridge Nursery in Tassie, these guys are doing an important job and doing it well. http://www.woodbridgefruittrees.com.au/
